I am Mikah Simpson - the 14-1’s coach for the 2019-2020 season. I am originally from Scott City Missouri, where I grew up and played volleyball from the time I was 11. A 2012 graduate from Scott City High School, I was a member of the 2009 state championship team where I graduated with All-State honors as a middle hitter.
I moved to Columbia to play volleyball for the Columbia College Cougars where I made the transition from a hitter to a defensive player. I finished my volleyball career as the Libero for the cougars where we won the NAIA National Championship in the 2015 season!
In May 2018 I graduated with my Masters in Teaching and am currently a high school teacher for Columbia Public Schools. This is my 4th season coaching with Performance. Prior, I worked for the SEMO Elite Volleyball Club which competed in the Gateway Region.
My favorite part about this sport has always been the relationships it builds among all of the families and players! Go Performance!
